In the Perth Test, India defeated Australia by 295 runs thanks in large part to Jasprit Bumrah. Travis Head, an Australian hitter, has now lavished the Indian fast bowler with accolades.
Travis Head, a batsman from Australia, thinks Indian speed leader Jasprit Bumrah would be remembered as “one of the greatest fast bowlers to play the game” and that he will be able to proudly mention to his grandchildren the difficult task of taking on the fast bowler.
Bumrah’s outstanding performance in the first Test match in Perth, which India won by 295 runs, solidified his place as the world’s finest bowler. Bumrah was named Player of the Match after taking eight wickets throughout the game. Following the Test, Bumrah climbed to the top of the bowlers’ ICC Test rankings.
“Jasprit will likely be remembered as one of the best fast bowlers in history. Head told reporters on Monday, “I think we’re finding that right now — how challenging he can be, and it’s nice to play against that.”
“Looking back on your career and telling your grandchildren that you faced him will be a pleasant experience. Thus, it was a good set of games with him. He is hard, but I hope to face him a few more times,” he continued.
In Perth, Australia, Bumrah also took out Head, demonstrating his outstanding form. His outstanding achievement this year was evidence of his extraordinary consistency.
He was voted Player-of-the-Series at the T20 World Cup earlier this year, as he was instrumental in India’s run to victory.
The top order, which included Steve Smith, Usman Khawaja, and Marnus Labuschagne, struggled, and Head was the only Australian batter to reach fifty. However, the powerful middle-order batsman is positive that his teammates won’t be coming to him for advice.
“I can assure you that they are not approaching me for batting advice. Everybody approaches things differently. Over the following three or four days, we’ll talk.
“Bumrah is incredibly special, and it goes for all of the bowlers. Each batter interprets cues differently and approaches the game differently. After a brief break, the Australian team reassembled on Monday.
At the same location where India was dismissed for 36 during their 2020 tour, the two teams will again begin a pink ball Test match in Adelaide on Friday.
“I remember that it was a quick test, so it was good,” Head recalled that match. After that, we were able to enjoy every aspect of Adelaide.
“It will be pleasant to repeat that. I’m not sure if we can go back. Watching it would not take long. That won’t occur this week, in my opinion. Australia last played a pink ball Test in January, while India played a day-night match against the Prime Minister’s XI over the weekend.
We haven’t played one (pink ball) in a while, but yesterday night India had another chance. Everyone has enough experience, particularly that squad, to compete on a global scale.
“I believe you’ll get used to things really fast. Like us, I don’t think they’ll need much time to get ready for it. The team is united.
There is no “divide” between Australia’s bowling squad and their faltering batting, Head claimed. After Josh Hazlewood’s remark during the first Test, there were suggestions of a potential rift within the team.
“We hold high expectations for both sides (batting and bowling) and it’s a very individualised sport,” Head stated.
“So, hitters, we want to compete because we know how effective our bowlers have been in the past and how often they have helped us get out of difficulty. As a batting team, we are aware that we will be in a strong position if we score enough runs.
“As a batter myself, I try to take a whole lot of pride in what I do, and knowing that if I can set it up for the big boys, that they can knock it down for us, so definitely no divide,” Head stated.
Adversity has been handled properly by Australia.
Head believed that the Australians would recover from their terrifying performance in Perth.
“This group has handled hardship effectively. We have performed well in the little we have had over the past three or four years.
“Last year, we faced a few difficult tests and some difficult situations. The week wasn’t great for us. It’s okay. However, we have four more chances to accomplish so, and we will continue like we did in previous years.
“Over the last couple of years, there’s a lot of teams that lost the first Test or gone down in the series and brought it back and played really well.”
